Chief Financial Officer , is responsible for overseeing its financial operations and making decisions based on the company’s financial stability. Their duties include monitoring cash flow, meeting with the COO to discuss the best practices for company finances and coming up with strategic plans to improve the organization’s overall financial health.

Expectations

Drive the company’s financial planning; oversees the operations of the accounting, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.

Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.

Perform risk management by analysing the organization’s liabilities and investments. Recommending benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.

Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.

Files quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Deciding on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks.

Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure.

Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations.

Supervise all finance personnel (controllers, treasurers etc.).

Aids in managing vendor relationships.

Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports.

Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system.

Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies.

Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

Working with Human Resources in identifying training needs and training programs.

Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

Proven experience as CFO, Finance Officer or relevant role.

In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.

Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.

Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).

Ability to strategize and solve problems.

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and people skills.

An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.

CPA is a strong advantage.

BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus.

Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

3-5 years or more of related experience required.

Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
