The Children’s Center, founded in 1929, provides evidence-based clinical therapy to children who deal with mental, behavioral, emotional, intellectual, and developmental health and educational challenges or may have experienced trauma.

School + Community-Based Partnerships:

We partner with K-12 schools and community organizations that serve children to provide clinical therapy, counseling, psychological services, and psychiatric evaluations, treatment & interventions.

Child Welfare : In addition to the clinical therapy programs offered, The Children’s Center places children in licensed foster homes, and supports them throughout their time in the child welfare system.

Child Well-being + Family Success:

We operate an onsite family success center that promotes child-wellbeing and offers children and youth from all walks of life to access relevant mental health crisis prevention and child abuse and neglect prevention services.

Advocacy : We champion child and youth well-being for those experiencing poverty-related issues, those within the child welfare system, and those in need of evidence-based, clinical therapy.

TCC’s mission is to help children and families shape their own futures. If as many children as possible, and their families can easily access comprehensive, evidence-based, clinical therapy that is integrated into and supports their everyday lives then, children will experience an improved quality of life where they have a true sense of agency and empowerment in their lives.

The Chief Philanthropy Officer at The Children’s Center ( TCC) is an executive leader responsible for driving the strategic direction and fundraising outcomes for the organization’s philanthropy programs. The Children's Center is a leader in child well-being, clinical behavioral health, child welfare, foster care, and adoption programs. This position requires a visionary and enterprising approach that blends fundraising expertise with a profound commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture while facilitating the impact and outcomes that achieve the organization’s mission and business objectives. Serving in this role means taking a key position in transforming lives and building a culture of excellence in children’s behavioral health, child well-being, and child welfare.

The Chief Philanthropy Officer is entrusted with shaping a culture of high accountability within TCC’s Philanthropy department, emphasizing measurable outcomes and strategic goal alignment.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, development, or philanthropy, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts and grants. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve fundraising goals. Advanced experience in utilizing of donor relationship and communications technology Demonstrated experience in stewarding major gifts Demonstrated knowledge of Local, State, and National Philanthropic community, pre-existing donor and foundational relationships Demonstrated knowledge of Local State and National nonprofit philanthropy space Demonstrated experience implementing and executing on a defined fundraising methodology such as Benevon or equivalent to drive success through consistent measures and donor approaches/methods Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative fundraising strategies that drive results. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and functions to achieve organizational objectives. Knowledge of fundraising best practices, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements in the nonprofit sector. Passion for The Children's Center's mission and commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Essential Functions

The Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan that ensures the long-term financial sustainability of The Children's Center's mission. Reporting directly to the CEO the CPO will work closely with the senior leadership team, board of directors, and other key stakeholders to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.

Executive Leadership

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team collaborate with ELT to steward organizational outcomes by developing, executing, and championing strategies that foster a growth mindset among staff, support the agency's mission and achieve its business objectives within the purview of this position. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations Ensure adherence to all funder and regulatory agency guidelines when implementing programs and service delivery Develop, monitor, manage, and ensure alignment of program goals that are fiscally feasible and sustainable Regularly review profit and loss statements within the purview of this position and adjust accordingly and as needed Implement a culture of continuous quality improvement to drive positive outcomes Collaborate cross functionally with clinical programs, philanthropy, and advocacy teams to advance policy improvements that improve agency outcomes and align to the business objectives for the agency Drive a positive workplace culture that demonstrates evidence of high accountability, inclusivity, and collaboration within the purview of this position. Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan aligned with The Children's Center's mission, vision, and business objectives. Develop and drive the philanthropy team’s achievement of donor stewardship and fundraising metrics Lead and manage all aspects of fundraising activities, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, special events, and individual giving campaigns. Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, prospects, and key stakeholders to maximize philanthropic support for the organization. Identify new funding opportunities and innovative fundraising strategies to diversify revenue streams and expand donor base. Collaborate with programmatic and operational teams to ensure alignment between fundraising efforts and organizational priorities. Provide leadership and guidance to the philanthropy team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Steward a portfolio of at least 25 major donors having at least 50 meaningful contacts annually Serve as primary liaison to the organization's strategic fundraising committee providing thought partnership on strategic initiatives, driving the agenda and ensuring all reporting is relevant and timely. Prepare and present regular reports on fundraising progress, including key metrics, trends, and analysis, to the CEO, board of directors, and other stakeholders. Stay informed about trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements in philanthropy and fundraising, and integrate new knowledge and techniques into The Children's Center's fundraising strategy. Represent the organization at external events, conferences, and meetings to enhance its visibility and reputation within the philanthropic community. Job Requirements

Physical Requirements

Mobility-non-residential: Ability to traverse stairs and other uneven terrain to gain access to and to maneuver throughout offsite locations including office buildings and special event locations. Ability to tolerate exposure to computer screens and operate computer/keyboard and other office equipment on a frequent and/or continuous basis.
