Position Purpose: Administer the day-to-day activities in support of an Engineering Team consisting of Sr. Product Design Engineers, Product Design Engineers, Detail Drafters and others as assigned. Assist Engineering supervisor in support of overall Engineering team while training and mentoring team members.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross functional teams to resolve challenges
  • Lead training efforts for new hires
  • Mentor designers as questions / concerns arise
  • Coordinate day to day scheduling of team
  • Confirm orders meet manufacturing capabilities.
  • Estimate engineering time to complete design (including mark-up and reference material).
  • Collaborate with customers to resolve design concerns
  • Execute advanced smo approval process
  • Create design matrix for product development projects of team
  • Organize product release compliance information
  • Review ECO's for drawing errors
  • Review ECO's for item master / BOM errors
Position Requirements:
  • Extensive Knapheide product knowledge as well as knowledge of auxiliary equipment installed on any customer's vehicles.
  • Prefer 4 year Technical degree or 2 year Associates degree with related experience.
  • Solid Works experience a plus.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Products including Word and Excel.
  • Must have strong communication and problem solving skills.
Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Normal standing, bending, walking, lifting in an office environment.
  • Ability to verbally communicate with individuals at any corporate level.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer multiple continuous hours per day
  • Moderate travel to key account customers is necessary.
