Senior Vice President Regional Credit Officer

This position is primarily responsible for the oversight and direction of the assigned commercial lending territory by providing support, direction, credit information and adherence to loan policies and procedures to ensure the overall quality of the Credit Union's commercial credit extension. This responsibility extends to LMCU's overall SBA credit function and SBA loan operations. This person will partner with commercial lenders to structure and implement credit terms that maintain and support profitable member relationships and comply with state and federal regulations as well as credit union policy.
Responsibilities
- Monitors regional credit quality issues. On an ongoing basis, evaluates the level of risk in each loan within the region while assigning the appropriate corresponding risk rating. Assists in managing watch list loans and criticized assets. Continually monitors loan policy exceptions for the assigned region and works with lending team to resolve in timely manner.
- Provide ongoing supervision of the region's commercial credit and SBA teams and support to leadership on the direction of credit underwriting, portfolio risk mitigation and compliance with loan policy and procedure.
- Participate as an active voting member on the regional loan committee. Responsible for the content, quality and accuracy of the regional loan committee agendas and minutes.
- Assists SBA and commercial credit analysts and credit manager as needed with difficult credit underwriting issues. Assists in the mentoring, guidance and development of assigned SBA and commercial lending team members.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the SBA lending and loan operations teams to achieve high performance and operational excellence. Set performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations to ensure team members meet or exceed their goals.
- Reviews SBA and commercial loan requests for compliance with Credit Union policy and SBA policy as well as regulatory compliance.
- Responsible to ensure annual credit reviews are completed in accordance with loan policy and procedure.
- Assists documentation team with complex loan documents, specifically on SBA and loan agreement revisions or externally attorney drafted loan documents.
- Administer semi-annual stress testing of the commercial investment real estate portfolio using Moody's CMM Property Management Software, with results prepared for in-depth analysis and reporting to key stakeholders such as Risk, Senior Management, and Examiners.
- Responsible for adhering to and complying with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, adhering to Bank policies and procedures, and completing required training.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience.
- Eight to ten years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
