Position Summary: Responsible for the achievement of the Aesculap Division sales forecast primarily through management of the Neurosurgery Capital Sales Force. Develops short- and long-term sales plans and programs within budget restrictions. Establishes sales strategies on products in coordination with marketing department. Makes recommendations for improving effectiveness in all field sales areas. Develop and coach the team to execute a plan to effectively work with senior hospital staff and key surgeons to integrate the Aesculap capital portfolio at new customer sites, ensuring ongoing commitment to the system. Negotiates contractual relationships with hospitals, IDN’s and purchasing organizations. Observes surgical procedures as required to remain informed of industry trends. The job functions listed are not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time. Expertise: Knowledge & Skills Requires breadth of organizational, professional field, and industry knowledge. Ability to integrate critical information from several diverse areas. Champions advanced strategies and concepts. Manages activities of a functional area which has at least 2 departments or major functions through managers and/or experienced employees. Responsible for cost, method, and employee results. Judgement is required in resolving complex problems based on experience. Interacts with internal and/or external clients and customers to negotiate and interpret information on projects and unit operations. May consult with senior management. Expertise: Qualifications -Education/Experience/Training/Etc Required: Bachelor's degree required. 10-15 years related experience, plus a minimum of 5 years management experience required. Regular and predictable attendance While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
