Job Summary:

The Equipment Accountant Team Lead provides accounting support to the North America Record to Report ("RTR") Equipment Revenue to Margin accountants. The Equipment Accountant Team Lead role is an integral part of the North America RTR Team responsible for revenue to margin accounting and reporting. The RTR team forms part of the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) organization. This role will have a significant interface with our Finance Director, Accounting Leader, SBU business finance and FP&A leaders, as well as external auditors.

Focus areas of the Equipment Accountant Team Lead include leading and supporting a team of accountants responsible for equipment revenue recognition, standard & extended warranty, rebates, bookings and backlog. Driving change within existing close processes due to an ERP change within the CHVAC SBU.

The role is based in Davidson, North Carolina or Lacrosse, Wisconsin, and reports directly to the North America RTR Manager and is designated as hybrid.

Responsibilities:
  • The individual is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
  • Assist with month-end close by reviewing general ledger journal entries to ensure revenue and costs are recognized accurately.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis, investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation to business partners.
  • Support enterprise and business projects and initiatives by participating in accounting reviews during testing cycles and monitoring transactions post go-live.
  • Review current accounting process and support the equipment accounting team through changes in accounting process as they impact the month end responsibilities of the RTR team.
  • Review general ledger account reconciliations in accordance with relevant Standards of Internal Control.
  • Support requests related to internal and external audits.
  • Identify and lead process improvement projects using lean principles.
  • Manage a team of accountants, by motivating and inspiring towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Provide feedback to the team members.

A successful candidate should be able to delegate tasks, manage conflicts, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required. Effective communication is critical for daily interactions with your team and business partners.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to analyze and interpret financial data/trends as well as problem solve and apply appropriate accounting treatment to revenue-related problems as they arise.
  • Must be able to lead, support and adapt to changes in a fast-paced accounting environment.
  • Must demonstrate high personal integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, company policy (FICAP), internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.
  • Strong PC skills required: Microsoft Office Suite (with Excel emphasis)
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools (Oracle R12 Projects, PeopleSoft, OneStream). This includes skills in using data analytics tools (Alteryx, Tableau) and spreadsheets (Excel).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline required (Accounting degree preferred).
  • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of accounting related experience.
