The Exclaimer content marketing team exists to engage, inspire and enable our audiences to do what they want to better. Within our content we are focusing on educating audiences and helping solve their complex problems. This is an opportunity for a creative marketer to put themselves at the centre of the martech world as we scale our content production up with contributions from some of the most well-known marketers in the world.

We are looking for a Demand Generation Content Manager to join our content team to help us grow traffic, sign ups and usage of our product. You will be reporting to the Director of Content & Communications with a focus on content, SEO, editorial, content strategy and dissemination. The DG Content Manager will be responsible for developing and executing content strategies aligned with demand generation goals to increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and generate high-quality leads.

You are a strategist and able to plan dissemination for effective demand generation. You have worked on research and editorial programs to drive stand-out thought leadership and unique content solutions within highly complex industries. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a deep understanding of digital marketing channels, and a proven track record of producing content that resonates with target audiences.

Key Responsibilities (What you will be doing)

  • Content Strategy Development: Working closely with the wider marketing and DG team, develop and execute comprehensive content strategies aligned with demand generation objectives to attract and nurture leads throughout the marketing/sales funnel.
  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality, engaging content for various channels including blogs, whitepapers, ebooks, infographics, videos, webinars, email campaigns, and social media posts.
  • Campaign Creation: Work with the Demand Generation team to create campaigns, test out new media formats and ideas, set direction and plans to utilize content across our marketing activity.
  • Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and monitor demand generation campaigns, leveraging content across multiple channels to maximize reach and impact.
  • Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and best practices in demand generation to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Editorial direction: Work with the Content and Demand Generation teams to further establish editorial directionincluding the keywords we should target, the topics we should cover, the content formats we should produce, etc.
  • Content Development: As part of the content team, develop content from draft right up until publication, including writing headlines for blog posts, meta descriptions for SEO, choosing the featured image, etc. Proofread all content before being published to the Exclaimer blog. Update content and internal linking to maximize search traffic.

Skills & Experience (About you)

  • You have proven experience in content marketing, demand generation, or a similar role.
  • You love stories and are a natural storyteller ideally coming from an editorial or journalist background. You can switch your tone of voice, write, review and edit in various formats.
  • Youre an exceptional editor and proofreader. You enjoy taking written work from draft form to publication. You love reading, too. In short, youre probably the person everyone goes to for your opinion before they publish.
  • You have a strong understanding of digital marketing concepts, including SEO, email marketing, social media, and PPC.
  • Youre a strong writer. Blog posts, emails, social media promotionswhatever it is youre skilled in coming up with the right words to promote a message.
  • You enjoy tying the work that you do to results. From an editorial standpoint, this would mean measuring the overall impact of the Exclaimer blog and website content. How are sessions trending? Which pages drive the most sessions? How does each blog or video influence conversions?
  • You have experience with tools like GenAI (we use Jasper) for content development, WordPress (for publishing), SEMRush for SEO, Google Analytics (for analysing content performance), Project management (we use Asana) and other technologies necessary for editing and publishing content. You also are comfortable writing about these and other marketing tools.
