Product Manager, Compliance & Risk

Reports to: Group Manager, Product Planning & Design

The Product Manager, Compliance & Risk will act as a subject matter expert in the development of risk and compliance related content and tools. Working closely with content creators, technology programmers, marketing professionals, and sales team members.

The ideal candidate will be professional, highly analytical, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. To prosper in this role, you should be fluent in risk and compliance terminology, have experience with developing a comprehensive risk management and/or compliance management programs, and possess a keen understanding of regulators examination practices in the financial services industry.

Responsibilities
  • Acts as internal subject matter expert in the development of products.
  • Work with teammates to monitor the regulatory environment, communicate changes, manage existing content, and develop new content in accordance with BAI's standards.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of customer/user needs, the marketplace, competitors and future trends in risk and compliance management.
  • Gains then maintains expert level knowledge of our content products and the business processes used to support them.
  • Uses knowledge of BAI content products to provide Tier 2 support for BAI sales team members and customers.
  • Use risk and compliance subject matter expertise to assist with content development for marketing purposes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Management team, Instructional Design team, software developers, and QA testers to clarify requirements.
  • Provide estimates used to build budgets, plans, and forecasts as required.
  • Participates in all SCRUM rituals with the Product Development and QA teams, as applicable.
  • Create user stories, process flows, outlines, and other requirements artifacts to clearly communicate content requirements.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and problem-solving workshops.
  • Prepares market research analysis, and business cases as needed.
  • Conducts fact finding sessions with key business and technology staff to assess as-is capabilities, define solution requirements, perform feasibility analyses, and define high-level solution alternatives and approaches.
  • Perform other duties as may be required or assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3 - 5 years' proven experience in a risk or compliance management role within a financial services or consulting organization
  • Related industry certifications a plus particularly CERP and CRCM
  • Excellent knowledge of legal requirements, policies, and procedures
  • Possess in-depth understanding of risk and compliance management in the financial services industry
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) or online business models
  • Ability to lead and work effectively in a cross-functional and collaborative team environment with a customer and market orientation
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in an independent, self-directed manner.
  • Highly effective communicator, both written and oral, who works well in a team environment and can manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of Agile Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., JIRA, VersionOne, etc.) and best practices
  • Product Management, Instructional Design, and/or Scrum Master experience a plus
