In this role, you will tackle challenging, dynamic work with a highly energized and tight-knit team. No two days are the same.You will be exposed to a variety of cutting-edge products and applications, as well as key customers in the semiconductor, flat panel, and other thin film markets. As a leader in a cross functional product design team, you will be responsible for product designs from conception through end user qualification and release into production. In this key role you will interact worldwide with all aspects of the business, key vendors, OEM's and end users. You will see the work you do translating to the success for the company. POSITION SUMMARY: Performs complicated engineering work exercising independent judgment and action. Performs applied research, design, development, testing, and documentation of products or systems. Works closely with customers to understand equipment/system requirements and to ensure that the product(s) work in the application(s). Provides direction and mentors engineers and engineering technicians. RESPONSIBILITIES: Create and maintain simulation models for power supply including plasma load for system development Responsible for the design, development, and release to manufacturing of switch mode power supply systems Responsible to diagnose complex issues with design, field performance, reliability and test yields of products and recommend/implement corrective actions to address Owns the success of the product/system in the end users' applications Works closely with customers, sales, product management procurement to drive innovation and efficiencies through the design and manufacturing process Manages risk and compliance across area of accountabilityWORK ENVIRONMENT: Standard office environment utilizing standard office equipment, a noisy fast-paced lab, and/or clean room 90% of the time Must be able to travel 10% of the time. Travel involves international and domestic travel to remote sites, customers, and vendorsQUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated design ability of Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) Ability to exercise judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results Ability to utilize previous experience in engineering practices/procedures, industry/customer practices in all work Ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to other personnel Ability to solve complex technical problems independently Ability to manage multiple projects at one time Good verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills Fluent verbal and written communication in English. C2 proficiency desiredEXPERIENCE: Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering and product developmentEDUCATION: BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or similar MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering with a Power Electronics concentration desiredCOMPENSATION: As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $125,000 to $155,000 per year.
