Reporting directly to VP within the Engineering department, The Director of Electrical Engineering involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge lighting solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, extensive experience in the lighting industry, and proven leadership skills. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects from conception to completion, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role is responsible for collaborating with other functions inside of Engineering as well as other departments including Product development, Quality and Product Support. Responsibilities

Drive innovation in product design and development, keeping the company at the forefront of the lighting industry. Leading the United States and Asia electrical engineering team as the strategic SME for the development of electrical engineering initiatives across the organization.

Teaching and developing junior engineers while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Works effectively cross functionally with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems. Through International travel manage supplier relationships to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance. Create and implement test procedures for all components and fixtures. Exhibits and adheres to the established Visual Comfort Company Values. Be present in the workplace to effectively elaborate and communicate amongst co-workers and teams. Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule. Gathering and reporting of metrics. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering. Strong knowledge of the principles, practices, and objectives of power electronics, analog and digital circuits. Understanding of lighting technologies, including LEDs, drivers, and control systems. At least 5 years of experience in the lighting industry. Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills required. High level of independent thinking and decision-making skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work cross-functionally, promoting positive work relationships with both internal and external customers. Capacity to utilize effective time management skills and be able to work under the stress of multiple deadlines, requests from other departments, and interruptions with accuracy. Capacity to be self-motivated and achieve goals with minimal supervision or direction. Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills. Proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams. Experience with product development and lifecycle management. Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance in the lighting industry. We Provide:
