The successful candidate will report directly to the Metal Deco Operations Manager. The Press Operator is responsible foroperating a 8 color metal can printing press and maintaining the day-to-day operations of the can printing equipment. You must possess a strong problem-solving skillset for printing, excellent communication both verbal and written, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Performs standard set-up, maintenance and operation of the press; optimizing press for maximum efficiency, including compliance with equipment specifications and company procedures. Reviews and coordinates job requirements with management or client specifications to ensure the highest quality work.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with and train team members to backfill daily services and equipment operations
  • Partner with internal Print Services team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and within the allotted production schedule
  • Maintain a working knowledge of production schedule and assigned daily and weekly tasks
  • Help build upon the current processes and procedures to develop a more efficient and effective manner of producing quality comps for clients review and approval
  • Use of proper PPE and equipment to the assigned task, follow procedures to ensure safety is the number one priority in the workplace
Qualifications Include:
  • Perform standard set-up, maintenance and operation of the metal deco printing press
  • Optimize the press for maximum efficiency, including compliance with equipment specifications, safety and company procedures
  • Review and coordinate job requirements with or client specifications to ensure the highest quality work
  • Working knowledge of graphic printing: color management, separations and production templates
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures in reference to equipment and surrounding personnel
  • Possess a working skillset and technical understanding of tools around mechanical operations
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours or as job requires
  • Bend and kneel consistently
  • Lift up to 15 pounds when required
  • Good dexterity with both hands, arms and legs
  • Ability to push, pull and extend to complete assigned duties
  • Ability to climb a ladder, as needed
