We are on the hunt for a Senior Inventory Accountant to make a list and check it twice (no reindeer needed). Ensures the integrity and proper valuation of company inventory, COGS, gross margin, and gross profit by monitoring all interfaces and reconciling all inventory related accounts.
What You'll Do
Perform month end closing activities and conduct variance analysis as part of the monthly performance review
Research and resolve all stock ledger and inventory discrepancies by coordinating with IT, warehouse, and other system owners
Own all aspects of inventory accounting, cost, reserve calculations, and in-transit tracking
Monitor, report on and analyze Distribution Centers’ cycle count program
Support planning and preparation activities related to periodic store physical inventory counts; perform analysis and reporting of results as needed
Support month-end close to finalize deliverables within set deadlines
Monitor systems and reporting to ensure the accuracy of the cost of goods sold and inventory counts
Perform analytical review on selected General Ledger accounts and research unexpected or unusual results
Performs other duties, including ad hoc reporting, as needed
Monitor all inventory landed cost components to ensure its recorded properly and timely
Assist with the quarterly internal and external auditing process & requests
What You'll Need
BS degree in Accounting or Business preferred (or equivalent experience)
3-5 years inventory or cost accounting experience in retail environment
Knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP systems
Knowledge of Manhattan Active or similar WM systems
Knowledge of stock ledger and reconciling inventory subsidiary ledgers
Priority will be given to candidate with Oracle inventory knowledge
Advanced Excel, Pivot tables, Lookups
Self-directed, able to work independently, in a fast pace environment with a sense of urgency
Demonstrate quantitative and analytical skills for problem solving
Strong verbal and written communication skills are desired
