This position is responsible for installing and maintaining security systems and/or fire alarm wiring and equipment to ensure that work is incompliance with relevant codes. Responsibilities: · Review customer requirements and collaborate with team members to gather necessary information for quoting and designing fire alarm and security systems. · Develop system drawings and schematics for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. · Ensure adherence to fire, life safety, and building codes, including NFPA codes, manufacturer instructions, and local compliance requirements. · Conduct field reviews and surveys to confirm design accuracy. · Calculate battery load for wiring and components. · Interpret architect drawings, blueprints, and construction documents. · Coordinate stock listing and materials for project installation. · Manage projects efficiently by meeting client needs through effective communication and problem-solving. · Follow safety protocols during on-site visits. · Cultivate strong relationships with customers and vendors. · Comply with state and federal safety and health regulations. · Adhere to established standard operating procedures for business efficiency. · Maintain operator documents for reference. · Represent the company professionally in all interactions. · Ensure company standards and procedures are met. · Participate in training and certification programs as required. · Perform additional tasks as assigned by the company. Requirements: · High School Diploma or GED, and Technical Certificate, 4 year college (preferred). · A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required. · Understanding of NFPA and local authorities having jurisdiction requirements. · Proficient in Windows-based CAD, AutoCAD design software or other fire protection design software. · Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, MS Word and Excel · NICET certification preferred, but not required as training and professional development are provided. · IDS, ACS, and Camera Systems experience is a must. · Lenel Certification a plus · DMP certification a plus. · Active DCJS registration preferred or ability to obtain. · Proven record of honesty and integrity in all relationships. · Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others. · Excellent communication and time management skills. · Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. · May be required to provide a DMV record (depending upon contract). · May be required to obtain a security clearance (depending upon contract).
