Description:

Position Purpose:

Performs cleaning tasks to insure a clean environment for all customers of MercyOne New Hampton Medical Center. Customer service skills are also essential for this position.

What You Will Do:
  • Cleans and replenishes supplies and needle boxes in assigned areas based on route descriptions including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, disinfecting and emptying trash following established guidelines to maximize productivity.
  • Engage with internal and external customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Disposes and recycles trash as designated by route descriptions.
  • Washes and makes beds and/or stretchers and washes utensils as required by route assignments.
  • Arranges furniture in an orderly fashion.
  • Washes walls and windows, cleans vents and lights. Utilizes problem solving knowledge and skills to investigate problems and formulate solutions to improve safety, maximize growth, and reduce costs.

Education:

1. High School graduate or equivalent preferred

Experience:
  • Must be able to plan and organize work load, as well as be alert to safety hazards
Special Skills and Competencies:
  • Must be able to follow instructions both verbal and written. Able to recognize personal learning needs and follow appropriate channels to gain new knowledge.
  • Able to work flexible hours.
  • Must be able to read, write and/or speak English. Completes the following mandatory courses (check all that apply):
