What You'll Do

As the Family Services Coordinator for one of our Early Childhood Programs, you'll be responsible for managing the delivery of comprehensive and integrated service to children and their families through networking and partnering with outside community-based organizations. Services include information and referrals for health, mental health, nutrition, and social services inclusive of housing and criminal justice services as needed. You'll coordinate trainings and parent meetings and provide advocacy and support to all families in need.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing a trusting relationship with families of enrolled children.
  • Managing resources for families by making and following up on referrals to ensure good communication between the families and all involved partners.
  • Directing and coordinating parent committees.
  • Leading training sessions and workgroups.
  • Participating on Child Study Teams/Interdisciplinary Team meetings and using the information gathered to provide follow-up addressing child health, nutrition, and family needs.
  • Supporting all members of the team and modeling a positive, non-judgmental attitude in working with staff, parents, families and volunteers.
  • Predicting unsafe situations and taking appropriate precautions.
You're a great fit for this role if you have:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience and skills.
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start's Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Framework.
  • Understanding of CPS reporting system, signs, and symptoms of child abuse and neglect.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
