Job Title: Family Advocate

Job Summary:

The Family Advocate will contribute to the day-to-day operation of the Family Enrichment Center, building connections with staff, residents, and community partners, co-designing and delivering programming, and providing advocacy and referrals for participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate meetings and collaborate with local parents, subject experts, and residents to deliver monthly events and activities.
  • Foster a culture of respect and empower families to succeed through access to opportunities and support.
  • Provide advocacy, outreach, and referrals to connect participants to service providers and other programs.
  • Engage community members of all ages in co-designed activities and programming.
  • Manage enrollment and attendance at offerings and events.
  • Care for and maintain the physical space of the FEC program.
  • Handle inventory and ordering responsibilities to ensure needed resources are available.
  • Utilize tracking and reporting mechanisms to obtain program-level data and compile reports for stakeholders.
  • Manage the FEC website to communicate with and engage members.
  • Use Appreciative Inquiry and other strength-based tools to engage community members in co-designing offerings.
  • Create monthly calendars, website content, and outreach tools to promote and document offerings.
  • Participate in learning collaboratives facilitated by ACS with other FEC teams.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience; or a high school diploma and five years of experience in community-driven programs.
  • Reside in or near the FEC community or be able to arrive promptly in the event of an emergency.
  • Russian language proficiency required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with children, youth, and adults individually and in groups.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the community and its assets and resources.
  • Experience in developing and running a group or coaching a team preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
