This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

****Job Purpose****

Manage and ensure the purchasing of materials, services, and/or equipment for the assigned purchasing portfolio, within the set procurement policies and guidelines, to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply at optimum cost within specifications

****General Job Requirements****

* This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.

****Essential Duties and Responsibilities****

* Reviews customer orders on a daily basis

* Contact potential vendors, perform reference checks, review quotations and evaluate each purchase requisition for the most appropriate methods of procurement

* Review purchase orders for accuracy

* Review purchase requisition (PR) for accuracy and convert the PR to Purchase Order (PO)

* Establish priorities for assigned commodities with key vendors and ensure priorities are maintained

* Maintain effective communication with both internal and external customers

* Interface with all levels of management both internally and externally

* Continuously strive to reduce the cost of assigned commodities

* Interact with engineering department to assist in the sourcing of materials, with respect to cost, quality, and availability of materials

* Generate reports per specified processes that measure key buyer performance metrics

****Qualifications****

**Minimum**

* 2-3+ years experience in a similar position

* At minimum High School Diploma, preferred Associate's or bachelor's degree in procurement or a related field

* Knowledge of software programs, including MS Office, etc.

**Preferred**

* Foreign language is a plus, English a must

* A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.

* Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.

* Knowledge of MRP and ERP

* Knowledge of manufacturing environment and material costing

* Knowledge of market analysis and supplier relationship

* 2-4 year college degree or higher in business or related field
