Position Summary

We are looking to hire a Security Analyst focusing on a security initiative to join a small but growing IT engineering team located in Portland, OR. This Security Analyst will assist with security testing, standardization, configuration, support, documentation, and maintenance of IT & AV systems for various client yachts around the world.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Configures and analyzes security logs including: Firewalls, network, and AD
  • Coordinates, tests, and troubleshoots software and firmware patching
  • Monitors and modifies AD security configurations
  • Creates and maintains hardware and firmware inventories
  • Assists with backup and restoration processes and procedures and maintains offsite and onsite backups
  • Maintains security policy documentation
  • Assists with security incident responses
  • Implements and maintains multifactor authentication for various systems
  • Monitors and maintains dark web and breach monitoring services
  • Assists in collecting data and writing security posture assessments
  • Verifies, updates, and manages changes to system documentation
  • Coordinates and automates the implementation of the standards on existing and new systems
  • Assists with backup and restoration processes and procedures
  • Communicates and coordinates system maintenance schedules and downtime to users and stakeholders
  • Writes and maintains documentation to include standards documents, evaluation reports, site information spreadsheets, help manuals, installation procedures (for both client and internal use)
  • Verifies and updates changes to network documentation
  • Working with remote teams and clients
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Working knowledge of security best practices (e.g., OWASP)
  • Proficiency with common security tools; nmap, Nessus, Metasploit, Kali, etc.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of business, cybersecurity, information technology and/or computer science as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree.
  • Remote Monitoring and Management software
  • System log aggregation and visualization tools
  • Windows AD environments
  • Linux installation configuration and troubleshooting
  • Virtualization usage and administration (VMWare 5 through 8.0)
  • Microsoft Server usage and administration (2008 through 2022)
  • Security event and incident management tools
  • System automation utilizing a common scripting language
