The National Director of Care Services ensures the successful delivery of the care experience for all communities offering Assisted Living and Memory Care. Supports the development, coaching and training of Care Services Directors and care associates to achieve the highest service experience while meeting the care needs of our residents. Designs and maintains programs and standards necessary to achieve a best in class care experience while meeting Kisco strategic objectives and all county, state, and federal requirements.

What will I do every day?
  • Develops and ensures implementation of standard operational procedures for all levels of care to ensure the continuity of experience from initial assessment to care delivery to proper billing.
  • Develops and ensures implementation of care services programs that support the attraction and retention of top talent
  • Supports the development of ongoing care systems and innovations and remains aware of best-in-class care-related technology and solutions that may be worthy of consideration
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for all things care-related for Kisco. This includes (but not limited to) care policies, labor management, EHR management and ongoing development, Care sustainability (Care Margins), and the resident and associate experiences related to care delivery
  • Works cooperatively with Dining Services to coordinate the assessment, proper preparation and delivery of special diets
  • Reviews care services-related resident satisfaction at all communities. Works with Executive Directors to support the community to develop action plans to improve satisfaction as needed, as well as sharing best practices across the organization
  • Supports the care services budgeting process for all communities
  • Trains community leadership and staff on core care services programs and standards
  • Establishes, ensures implementation, and revises policies, procedures and performance standards, as required
  • Develops, ensures implementation of care programs to meet/exceed annual care services operating expenses and revenue goals
  • Supports the required state and federal guidelines for care delivery at all communities
  • Assists in planning and opening of new communities
  • Assists Executive Directors in the sourcing, selection and onboarding of the care services management staff and supports care service staff hiring as needed
  • Conducts operational reviews at all communities on annual basis (more frequently if necessary)
  • Reviews the Leading Indicators monthly to determine cost management needs, revenue opportunities and leveraging best practices. Ensures accuracies with measurements to develop actionable steps
  • Supports the organization strategies and demonstrates the Principles, Values and Beliefs
  • Supports the sustainability, remodeling and renovation process for care service levels of living as necessary
  • Creates recognition opportunities for promotion, publicity, branding, and publication of care programs, innovations and best practices
  • Attend and/or present at industry events to promote company best practices and innovations
  • Performs other duties as required

What will I need to be successful in this role?

  • College degree required.
  • Must have a minimum 5 years of experience in relevant Seniors Housing related field.
  • Supervisory and Management experience desired
  • Working knowledge of EHRs, Congregate Senior Living guidelines and policies preferred.
  • Registered Nurse License required. Working knowledge of EHRs, Congregate Senior Living guidelines and policies preferred.
  • Knowledge of Senior Living policies and procedures.
  • Training experience highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of computers and must have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of all aspects of a care services program and basic understanding of accounting and financial analysis.
  • Professional presence and the willingness and ability to serve as an effective public speaker(when necessary).
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to work in an environment with multiple priorities.
Work Location

Must live in one of our Kisco Markets with 50% travel required to all Kisco communities. Travel to home office is required upon request.
