We are hiring an OCS Engineer to join our local team in Sacramento to work on the California high-speed rail project and other rail projects in the state.

You will be part of a consultant team that will directly support the client Rail and Operations Delivery Branch in a partner role for the following services:

  • Asset Management
  • Rail Engineering Support and Oversight
  • Design and construction operations and maintenance oversight
  • Network integration and program compliance
  • Start-up and commissioning
  • Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) certification
  • Rule of applicability
  • System safety and security
  • Track, systems and trainsets contracts commercial support
In support of the client, the Consultant will be providing recommendations, advice, and deliverables as necessary for the successful implementation of strategic delivery approaches, contract oversight, technical requirements and integration among various client contractors and consultants.

The consultant will be responsible to oversee and monitor the performance and quality of associated work under their assigned disciplines, including Overhead Contact Systems (OCS).

Your role will be to:
  • Support the client by providing technical railroad engineering advice, based on European Standards (EN) on the Overhead Contact System (OCS).
  • Coordinate with the client's Engineering Services Branch to verify that the civil engineering and rail engineering products are integrated, compatible, and, together, will deliver a complete, functional, and certifiable system.
  • Perform intermediate and final design submittals management for the Overhead Contact System (OCS).
  • Perform technical review management, due diligence check, and technical contract requirement compliance management for the Overhead Contact System (OCS).
  • Review technical design reports and perform document submittal management for the Overhead Contact System (OCS).
Profile

To be considered for this position as OCS Engineer we have the following requirements:
  • An appropriate university engineering degree, or equivalent qualification such as a degree in mechanical engineering.
  • At least 7 years of railway experience in the OCS field.
  • Experience as an OCS Engineer, in design phase, you will be capable of analyzying and commenting on designs, giving the client an expert consultant approach during feasibility, preliminary, detailed design and assessment of constructability.
  • Commissioning supervision experience an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Software used for OCS design such as Microstation and AutoCAD.
  • Main line / heavy rail experience preferred. An experience on a High-Speed rail project is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills.
