LearningObjectives:

The goals of the Veterinary Technology AnimalCare Project are:
  • To increase veterinarytechnology students' proficiency in the basic animal care and husbandry skillsthat are required by the program accrediting agency and are necessary forprogram and job success.
  • To promote an appreciation of the personal responsibility of RegisteredVeterinary Technicians to provide dedicated compassionate and thoroughtreatment to animals under their care.
  • To allow animal patients in the Veterinary Technology Program increasedcontact with human care-providers in a non-threatening environment.
  • To promote a spirit of teamwork and an attitude of honesty andprofessionalism when caring for patients and clients.
  • Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester;
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress;
  • Adhere to College's confidentiality policy;
  • Successfully pass background/drug screening;
  • Answer phone and take messages;
  • Clerical duties such as filing, data entry, copying and faxing;
  • Open and sort mail;
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills;
  • Willingness to learn new technology;
  • Assist with special projects;
  • Other duties as assigned.
