Director, Demand Marketing, Life Sciences & Healthcare

Overview

The Director of Demand Strategy for Life Sciences & Healthcare (LS&H) is responsible for generating demand for Clarivate's LS&H solutions through the design and execution of integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns on a global basis. Leading a team of demand marketing managers, the Director of Demand Marketing will drive and accelerate marketing growth and help to ensure that marketing-impacted sales and revenue targets are met within this critical industry vertical. As a key part of the LS&H marketing team, this role guides the overall marketing strategy and approach for sustained business growth and will act as a key advisor to the head of LS&H marketing. In addition to driving demand for the direct sales team, the incumbent will also drive transactional sales growth sold through renewals.

What you will be doing in this role:

  • Lead strategic development of global demand creation and lead generation marketing for Clarivate's Life Sciences & Healthcare solutions

  • Collaborate with product and industry marketing teams to identify target personas, leverage key value propositions and align on business needs

  • Partner with Sales to understand sales drivers, align on priorities and identify opportunities for pipeline acceleration

  • Develop short-term and long-term demand strategy plans and goals

  • Work with global field marketing teams on local application of global campaigns, understand local demand requirements, and support lead follow-up discipline with sales teams

  • Employ appropriate marketing channels needed to achieve marketing reach and effectiveness; grow use of new channels to expand overall reach

  • Leveraging data and results across all levels of the marketing and sales funnel, analyze performance of campaigns, monitor progress toward goals and modify approach as needed

  • Create a test-and-learn culture within Clarivate's demand marketing practices in order to optimize campaign performance and results

  • Ensure that effective demand marketing occurs at multiple levels of the marketing and sales funnels, in cooperation with sales teams, to accelerate sales and revenue recognition

  • Build a team of highly motivated marketers that thrive on success and growth

  • Serve as a leader to share demand and marketing best practices across all marketing teams

  • Support growth of Clarivate's 'start up' areas such as RWD with innovative demand generation

About You- experience, education, skills and accomplishments

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, or equivalent

  • Minimum 8 years in global B2B demand marketing or similar positions

  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading and building highly motivated teams

  • Proven track record of business growth through lead generation and pipeline contribution

Other strengths & competencies:

  • Ability to translate solution and product benefits into campaigns focused on buyer needs and design a campaign portfolio that addresses a range of buyer needs and buyer journeys across area sub-segments

  • Ability to establish and manage processes for campaign portfolio governance and campaign lifecycle decisions

  • Strategic thinker with ability to approach marketing campaigns creatively and innovatively

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skill set with ability to provide guidance to teams based on data and performance results and embrace market testing

  • Deep understanding of B2B digital marketing channels and applicability of campaign frameworks and channels through all phases of the marketing and sales funnel

  • Experience in or knowledge of the biopharma/life sciences industry preferred

Hours of Work

  • This is a full time position performed hybrid near our US or UK offices, working primarily local hours but with ability to work sometimes off hours with global teams.
  • Travel as needed
