The RSE will focus solely on acquiring new independent & regional chain business through development & implementation of sales and marketing strategies geared to the retail distribution market. The RSE is responsible for identifying potential large and strategic new business opportunities, completing the sales process, collaborating with the onboarding team to bring on accounts, and ensure compliance prior to transitioning the account to a retail sales manager for ongoing account management. Additional responsibilities may include monitoring, enforcing, and maintaining compliance with key regional buying groups through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. May also entail managing the relationship between McKesson and some of our small and medium chains and buying groups. Territory will include the northeast region geography. **Position Description** Key Responsibilities: * Develop and implement long and short-term sales & marketing strategies for growing regional market share. * Grow Retail Pharmaceutical Distribution business of large scale new business opportunities throughout the market. * Work consistently with a detailed sales process and utilize Salesforce.com to track all activity. * Manage and drive an active, full funnel of multiple sales prospects from beginning to end, from identifying through achieving compliance to committed minimum ordering metrics. * Customize a unique solution, including pricing proposal and applicable McKesson programs, for each potential customer or group. * Thoroughly understand and explain McKesson's retail programs, services, and key benefits to current and potential customers, sales partners, and other internal or external groups. * Collaborate with regional sales and management teams on larger groups and prospects and for warm handoff once compliance is achieved. * Present to and communicate with executives in small/medium retail chain establishments and within the McKesson organization to receive approval and buy-in for proposals, engaging additional subject matter experts for assistance as needed. * Execute, manage, and oversee conversion process of new business until transition to retail sales manager, once compliant. **Minimum Requirements** 5+

years sales experience **Critical Skills:** * 5+ years sales experience with track record of success * Current valid driver's license and clean driving record is required. * Working knowledge of retail sales industry. * Experience selling higher in an organization and/or demonstrated success record of selling to large, retail customers required * Must be open to 70% travel with 8-12+ overnights per month **Additional Skills/Knowledge:** * Distribution industry knowledge a plus * Knowledge of specific region business trends a plus * Consultative Selling skills * Business/Financial Acumen * Analysis/Problem Solving skill * Teamwork/Collaboration * Customer Orientation * Communication Skills and relationships building skills with ability to build trust and credibility * Flexibility * Creativity * Ability to distinguish features from benefits * Knowledge and willingness to work with defined sales process **Education:** * Bachelors degree preferred **Physical Requirements** * General Office Demands * Home office with extensive regional travel * Ability to travel 70% Career Level - IC-Sales - S4 **McKesson is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative
