ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Design and produce various types of customized maps, tables, and reports using spatial analysis and GIS technology.Develop spatially enabled database schemas, standardizing, migrating, and loading data into enterprise database systems.Manage SQL Server Management Studio, including permissions, scheduling backups, and database optimization.Provide support and troubleshooting assistance to GISStreamline, automate, and maintain the City of Bowie's GIS data layers and geoprocessingFacilitate geographic data exchange with CityResearch, recommend, and implement industry best practices to drive forward strategic and business initiatives.Attend local and regional meetings and conferences to keep updated with industryUndertake additional GIS tasks and operations asQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Cartography, Geography, Computer Science, Information Management, GIS, Engineering or related field.Three (3) years of experience in GIS or a related field and/ or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience may be considered.Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in relatedTwo (2) years of experience in a GIS relatedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts, procedures, andKnowledge in Python, JavaScript, SQL, Arcade and/orExpertise in ESRI GIS systems, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online.Proficient with contemporary computer systems, including diverse software applications and network connectivity solutions.Independent work ethic with strong planning and organizationalAbility to communicate complex computer concepts effectively in writing andCapability to work under pressure and meet establishedMust be flexible, able to multi-task, and enjoy working in a diverse, results-oriented workplace where a premium is placed on teamworkSense of humor

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
