+ Perform various clerical duties

+ Allocate expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures

+ Post journal entries to general ledger

+ Assist with month/year end closing cycles

+ Reconcile accounts

+ Balance bank statements

+ Prepare financial reports and accounting statements

+ Serve as backup for payroll/prepare payroll reports

+ Generate summary sheets/reports for use by management or outside accounting firm

+ Proof accounting reports for clerical accuracy

+ Work with outside accounting firm as needed to comply with applicable standards, procedures, and laws

+ Provide assistance & support to company personnel

+ Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

+ Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures and the ability to train others in related practices and procedures

+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

+ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

+ Familiarity with Sage 100 or other accounting software

+ Strong ability to multitask

+ Bookkeeping coursework or Associates degree in Accounting required; Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred.
