Responsibilities:
  • Daily Accounting Operations: Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Financial Close Process: Assist in managing the monthly financial close process, ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, and reviewing journal entries and account balance reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain significant deviations from budget and forecast.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial and legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare for and assist with external audits, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of requested information.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information and to support company-wide initiatives.
  • Fixed Assets Management: Oversee the accounting for fixed assets, including acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of assets, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the dynamic needs of the accounting team.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Previous management experience highly preferred
  • Experience in public accounting is a plus
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
