Job Title : Resident Fund Clerk
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for the handling of the day-to-day banking needs of all residents enrolled in the Resident Fund Management System (RFMS) This position will also be responsible for depositing all other payments received and assisting the Accounting Department with general office duties.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage the opening and closing of RFMS account(s) for residents as needed; set up representative payee for residents with Social Security Administration (SSA) payments
- Post and maintain accurate individual resident trust ledgers to meet Federal and State regulations
- Respond to any inquiries or questions regarding any RFMS account in a timely manner
- Manage monthly RFMS activity for all residents; recording deposits received and disbursements required including payments to health care providers, outgoing funds for resident out-trips
- Responsible for producing and distributing quarterly banking statements for all RFMS accounts
- Maintain banking hours to allow residents access to their funds; includes weekly "banking hour" to Nursing Home to meet with residents to disburse funds
- Liaison with social work to provide reimbursements from RFMS accounts to residents/family members
- Develop relationship with local (SSA) office to handle certain rep-payee cases as needed
- Responsible for collecting and depositing fees for badges, ID cards, gym membership, etc. and depositing funds into designated bank accounts as needed
- Manage deposits and other payments received by using the remote deposit machine
- Responsible for maintaining detailed records for each banking transaction, scanning, and saving appropriate supporting documentation (RFMS and all others)
- Perform all other related duties as required
Education:
- Associates Degree or higher in Finance, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One to two years' experience in accounting.
- Experience with Adult Care community
- Experience in RFMS preferred
- Experience as liaison with Social Security preferred
- N/A
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Bilingual required (English/Spanish) - English/Creole a plus
- Extremely detail oriented
- Proficient computer skills required
- Ability to think critically
- Problem solving skills in complex situations required
- Outstanding customer relations skills
