The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Miami Health System offers a remarkable opportunity for a full-time position on the Clinician-Educator track, available at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical. The successful candidate will deliver Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services across various healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in didactic and clinical education, overseeing OMFS residents while providing comprehensive patient care, including surgical and consultative services.
  • Uphold the mission of UHealth by contributing to medical education, advancing research, and ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Actively participate in local, regional, and national healthcare initiatives that influence the future of surgical practice and funding.
  • Involve in the Oral Surgery Service and residency training programs.
  • Collaborate on significant departmental activities as determined with the Division Chief.
  • Deliver clinical care in all facets of oral and maxillofacial surgery, fostering teamwork with fellow physicians in the division.
  • Supervise residents at affiliated healthcare institutions and educate students in elective surgical programs.
  • Pursue funding opportunities for research initiatives under personal supervision.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all services rendered in patient medical records.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and hospital bylaws.
  • Exercise final medical judgment in all healthcare-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have completed a CODA-accredited advanced education program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and be board-certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
  • A comprehensive background in oral and maxillofacial surgery is essential.
  • Fellowship training in Oral and Maxillofacial Oncologic Surgery and Microvascular Reconstruction is required.
  • Candidates must possess an MD and DDS or DMD and be licensed to practice both dentistry and medicine.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is mandatory.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with a proactive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to ethical and professional standards.
