Montpelier, United States State of Vermont Full time
Overview

This position performs technical work in the Unclaimed Property Division of the State Treasurer's Office in maintaining financial records and claims management data by maintaining a significant part of a large, complex claims management and accounting system.

Work is performed independently within established policies and procedures, and is reviewed by technical superiors primarily through periodic audits and verification of financial records and statements. In addition, this person posts receipts of holder data and corresponding stock certificates, cash or cash equivalents; processes and records claim disbursements; and adjusts entries.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and deal with the public, banks, insurance companies, and the like in a courteous and productive manner, both in person and on the telephone.
