Operations Support Specialist II

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.

Cherokee Insights is seeking an Operations Security Specialist to provide Future Operations and Plans support.

Compensation & Benefits:

Operations Support Specialist II Responsibilities Include:
  • Serve as the SME for the S3's wide range of current issues and advise the customer by providing mission analysis, course of action analysis, problem solving and coordination of initiatives, objectives and organization-wide initiatives, improvements and optimization efforts.
  • Plan and develop future operations in support of mid and long-range strategic plans
  • Develop and deliver tracking mechanisms, briefings, strategies, reports, plans, meeting notes, presentations, etc., to Government Team Lead, as required.
  • Draft or edit Operational Plans (OPLAN), operational Orders (OPORD), and Fragmentary Orders (FRAORD) to support LOOs and LOEs; participate in planning groups and Operational Planning Teams (OPT) to develop new initiatives and capabilities into plans; and support action officers with planning and remain cognizant of missions and priorities.
  • Review tasking database and logs and track taskings and suspenses.
  • Maintain direct coordination with the AFSC S3, Current Operations, subordinate operations staffs and MACOM staffs in maintaining the Long Range Calendar.
  • Manage tracking of command level activities, exercises, ceremonies and special events to include but not limited to change and assumption of command ceremonies; retirement ceremonies; organizational day; Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP); Commander conferences; Internment ceremonies, etc.
  • Develop RFIs, as required.
  • Provide general information and decision briefs based on analysis for command-level activities and events.
  • Draft yearly organizational Historical reports, Operations and Functions Manual, Command Action Plans and other MACOM required publications.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Operations Support Specialist II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in management or intelligence studies; five (5) years of military or government work experience relating to DoD/Army operations and futures planning support is acceptable in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) of experience supporting futures operations and plans support per Army Field Manuals 3-0 and Joint Publication 5-0 and associated Army Doctrinal Reference Publications (ADRPs) and Army Doctrinal Publications (ADPs).
  • Minimum of five (5) of experience with the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) and other applicable planning publications to identify, track and resolve issues impacting training exercises, daily operations and capabilities.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with military correspondence, policies or procedures; organizing workload and master suspense logs; and providing customer service.
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Excellent customer service, and oral and written communication skills
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
