JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, this role is responsible for managing the procurement process to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. This role is responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations. This role is crucial in optimizing costs, mitigating risks, and maintaining efficient supply chain operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team of purchasing category specialists
  • Develop global category strategy that delivers superior quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Leading and recommending supplier selection and managing the preferred supplier list
  • Governing quote management and market testing
  • Deploying dual/multi sources of supply to ensure continuity of supply of key products
  • Establish and maintaining executive relationships across all critical suppliers
  • Owing all commercial aspects of category relationships; leading contract negotiations and all commercial terms
  • Develop Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Strategic Plan for the full scope of spend
  • Developing, mentoring and managing category staff
  • Governing supplier repricing, purchased price variance and additional purchase part costs
  • Driving productivity ideation and implementation
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Extensive experience in procurement with the commercial truck/automotive market
  • Ability to accomplish basic financial analysis, supplier selection, and approval
  • Demonstrated supplier development experience from new product development to full rate production
  • Project Management and/or Contract Management experience
  • Professional Certifications in Project/Supply Chain/Procurement/Contract Management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to perform in high-stress, fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Tools
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE:
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience working in purchasing/procurement
