Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager will oversee the process of sourcing and purchasing essential materials according to production needs and company requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, prepare, and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Prepare and implement instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing.
  • Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
  • Research material for cost and value, negotiation with suppliers, and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Seek and partner with dependable vendors and suppliers.
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks for potential supply, or cost issues.
  • Resolves grievances with vendors and suppliers.
  • Maintain purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
  • Manage and purchasing staff and direct workload.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required.
  • Five years of experience in purchasing field required.
  • Microsoft applications, and ERP system knowledge required.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
