Job Summary:

The Acrisure Business Services Director, Accounting will report directly to the Vice President, Acrisure Business Services.

The Accounting Director’s primary focus is leading their accounting team dedicated to providing best-in-class services, while also ensuring that best-in-class internal controls are in place to support accounting for Regional Insurance Platforms. Primary accounting services include cash application, premium payables, direct bill processing and reconciliation, invoicing, producer broker payables, and month-end financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

Oversee accounting services, detailed above, ensuring deliverables to all key stakeholders are both accurate and timely, assisting with execution of strategies set by Platform and Organizational Leadership cohesively and consistently with excellence. Work with Sr Controller(s), Manager(s) and Supervisor(s) and partner with the Operational Excellence team to ensure all accounting functions are executed with excellence and issues are resolved with long-term sustainable resolutions, providing operational support as needed. Support high performance and team engagement, ensuring clear expectations and feedback against deliverables using metrics for performance, training and staffing needs. Ensure open and transparent lines of communication with all key stakeholders: With Acrisure leaders of regional platforms, ensuring full understanding of business plans and related monitoring/escalation of risks for achieving success and providing adherence to accounting Service Level Agreements through adequate/appropriate staffing to support accounting operations and service delivery. With Acrisure leaders, reviewing performance and financial integrity of financial statements, as required. With Corporate Accounting, ensuring all processes and financial statements are in accordance with GAAP and internal controls are in place and effective. Between Acrisure Partners and any other Home Office support functions, as needed. Utilize platform scorecard to assist with providing Platform leadership data and status updates for key functions. Ensure all accounting functions are operating with excellence for Acrisure Partners by continually monitoring and improving operational processes and achieving high levels of performance. Work to ensure all deliverables for corporate accounting and finance are completed accurately and timely, including, but not limited to, opening balance sheet reviews, earnout reviews, monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, monthly accounting reports, and year end audit schedules. Responsible to attest to the integrity of all work including Acrisure Partner financial statements as required.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business required; Accounting degree and/or MBA or CPA preferred. Minimum (10) ten years of experience in an accounting, auditing and/or financials analysis required. Insurance brokerage/related industry accounting background, highly preferred. Experience managing large teams of varying complexity and skill levels is required. Experienced with high level accounting – balance sheet and income statement analysis and reconciliation, and variance analysis. Applied and Vertafore platforms or similar agency management software experience, preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Workday experience is a plus.
