Document Specialist Manager

Catalyst Nutraceuticals is a fast-growing manufacturer of dietary supplements. We are currently hiring positive, dependable people to join our fantastic team One of our immediate needs is for a Document Specialist Manager.

1. Position Reports to: VP of Product Development

2. Position Summary: The Document Specialist Manager is responsible for the generation and primary review of all documents related to new Products as well as Products going through changes. The role will control the product document file tree, using that information to generate all downstream information to subsequent processes, ie: label panel, Finished Product Specs, and allergen reports. S/he will have responsibility for product labeling practices across the life cycle of Standard Process product portfolio. The role will work closely with Quality Assurance and Quality Control to coordinate both labeling and testing. An integral part of this role is to foster strong as well as strong collaboration across internal departments and stakeholders. S/he will also manage a team of regulatory specialist that perform label review, manage change control and FPS creation for new and existing products.

3. Essential job Duties/responsibilities:
•Manage a team of document specialist (product development) staff.
•Maintain solid understanding of current and pending supplement labeling regulatory requirements that may affect existing nutrition and labeling compliance programs or necessitate new programs or requirements.
•Initial generation of Finished Product Specifications, FPS
•Log and track the status of all FPSs
•Adding part numbers for new ingredients
•Communicate project timelines, hurdles, and expected completion dates
•Maintain and track KPIs related to FPS
•Receive and coordinate change controls with internal staff (needs training on formula)
•Work with Label Coordinator and Label review team to ensure Production workflow
•Ensure formula changes and label revisions comply with regulatory requirements.
•Maintain database of all R&D documents: ingredients, formulas, and FPSs
•Lead the team to apply scientific principles and knowledge to evaluate ideas and opportunities relative to the business strategies and opportunities (competitive

insights, brand positioning/standards, health & wellness nutritional platforms, emerging issues) for key innovation projects.
•Foster individual team member development and build strong, effective teams by setting clear goals and establishing success measures.

4. Educational / Experience Requirements
•Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Nutrition Regulatory or a related technical discipline

5. Experience
•Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the dietary supplement industry.

6. Required Knowledge skills and abilities
•Knowledge of current FDA regulation and enforcement policies within the food and dietary supplement industries
•Demonstrated leadership competency
•Working knowledge of Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA)

7. Physical Requirements
•Lift 25 lbs

8. Work environment
•Primarily desk based, minimal physical requirements

9. KPIs
•FPS turn time, Tracking change controls, accuracy (error pass through; add 1 & 2 signatures)
