GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Plans and directs all aspects of engineering team activities. Cross functional leadership, ME and EE engineering teams. Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives. Tests designs and repairs electrical/electronic, systems and components. Mentors engineering team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversees the sustaining of Machine Solutions products.
  • May oversee fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of equipment.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures, such as GMP, DFMA
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Uses Solidworks to design custom equipment.
  • Ensures the team is up to date with Machine Solutions Engineering standards.
  • Ensures good communication between the Engineering team and the organization.
  • Lead Engineering team, including staff development, training, coaching, design reviews and providing the required tools.
  • Leads, coordinates, and reviews the work of the Engineering team.
  • Manages workload and deliverables on multiple projects.
  • Create and motivate a highly effective team through recruiting, training, performance reviews, recognition, and corrective action.
  • Monitors project schedules regularly to determine any delays or deviations.
  • Participates in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling performance.
  • Respond quickly to customer and employee questions via email, phone, or in person.
  • Working with RF-enabled devices used in the medical device industry.
  • Embedded designs analog circuit design, power supplies, digital circuit design, signal conversion and filtering, signal quality analysis, and frequency response.
  • PCB design and experience with design software tools in (layout of different layers, trace width, via, component packages, pad arrangements, and surface mount technologies) are a plus.
  • Assist with functional design teams to aid designers with tasks such as schematic diagrams, software development, and PCB layout.
  • Reviews existing products suggests improvements and implements changes to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Must be able to travel if there is a need but no more than 10%.
  • Ad-hoc projects as needed

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BS) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent; or five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, schematics, interconnects assembly and part drawings or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

With or without reasonable accommodation minimal time will be spent walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching. Some time will be spent standing, sitting, talking, and hearing, and using hands to handle, feel and reach. At times up to 50 pounds will need to be lifted.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Minimal time will be spent in wet or humid conditions, and near caustic or toxic chemicals. Sometime will be spent working near moving mechanical parts. The noise level is moderate (examples: business offices with computers and printers).
