HR GENERALIST in Long Beach, CA. (Company Confidential) Immediate Employment Opportunity Excellent opportunity with a mid-size company in the process of growing and expanding. The HR Generalist is a member of the senior management team and is a role model for the organization. We are in the service industry, servicing the Southern California region. Our company’s structure is looking for an HR Manager who will integrate into the culture already established and will work to maintain and enforce HR policies, programs and practices. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Provide support to managers and employees with general human resources, benefits, and employment questions Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements Manages employee relations resolving questions and concerns, conducting investigations and making recommendations for effective resolution Conduct new employee -on boarding- including conducting new hire orientation, review, verify and process all new hire paperwork and coordinate benefit enrollment information Manage performance management and improvement systems Manage leaves of absence including FMLA/CFRA, PFL and ensures timely notification and compliance with policies and laws Manage open enrollment process including evaluating current health plans, working with broker to obtain new plan bids, coordinate and attend open enrollment meetings, process all employee paperwork Coordinate and schedules ongoing management training for legal compliance and development SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Well versed/knowledgeable of FLSA, NLRA, EEOC, ADA, USCIS, ACA, DFEH and OSHA Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations Understanding and maintenance of the UI Claims & Processes, including hearings as necessary Ability to Multi-task in a fast paced, always evolving environment Excellent verbal, written, listening and public relations skills Advises management on effective coaching and counseling strategies; assists with conflict resolution, documentation and corrective action Prepare all necessary termination paperwork and executes task in a professional, low legal exposure manner Must have safety and Worker’s Compensation experience Legal background preferred EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree preferably in HR, Business Administration or Industrial Relations A minimum of 5 years experience in a management role capacity English/Spanish bilingual (read, speak and written) Benefits- Yes
