Tax Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA.
- Act as a strategic leader for the organization; identifies and drives initiatives on behalf of the firm.
- Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue.
- Participation with Firm ownership in development of organizational vision and operational strategies for the future growth of the Firm.
- Utilizes strong people leadership and communication skills to help lead departmental team, provide strategic guidance, and foster staff development through direct coaching.
- Provides advice, solutions and guidance for non-routine matters in the operation of the Firm.
- Act as trusted tax consultant for clients by researching various tax matters, responding to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to the client.
- Review tax returns, workpapers, adjusted trial balances, depreciation schedules.
- Maintain and further expertise pertinent to their practice or area of specialty, through training and other appropriate endeavors.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Taxation, or a similar degree in business.
- CPA required.
- Strategic mindset of running a small public accounting firm; be able to see the "big picture."
- Ability to develop and build business relationships to sell and drive new business to the firm.
- Experience in managing a sizeable book of business.
- Have strong expertise with 8+ years of tax accounting experience
- Well-versed in Corporate, S Corporation and Partnership taxation. Experience in Trust taxation is a plus.
- Ability to manage concurrent projects
- Strong knowledge of accounting software, as well as Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite products.
