SENIOR EVENTS MANAGER

to support the Events department through the successful planning and execution of the organization’s premier events in support of and working in partnership with CEO members. Minimum of 8 years experience in the events industry, leading multi-city and/or country events and managing multiple direct reports. He/she/they may be assigned additional special projects in support of the organization’s mission, annual objectives, and team core values. The successful candidate is intellectually curious, possesses strong attention to detail, and has a hospitable personality. Specific Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of up to four events each fiscal year and serve as a backup on other events throughout the fiscal year. Work directly with assigned Event Chairs and/or Event Committees to ensure their events incorporate innovative, creative, and thought-provoking elements in the socials, off-sites, lunches, breaks, education sessions thus guaranteeing a premier event product. Prepare and develop the budget for all assigned events and adhere to the agreed upon financial commitments to the organization. Handle all internal documentation and processes in addition to vendor relationships associated with assigned events. Serve as counsel and role model for junior staff in the Events and Education department, training them and modeling desirable behaviors, processes and providing an example of CEO Core Values. Often paired up with less experienced staff to round out the staffing. Prepare and present training modules to the Event staff on several occasions throughout the calendar year. And have open office hours on a weekly basis for Event staff touch basis discussions and sharing of ideas/concepts to help junior staff develop their assigned events. Manage at least one Events Manager or intern as necessary. Idea generation with the Director of Events on how to keep CEO events at the forefront of member needs and expectations and on the development of the overall events calendar. Staying on top of industry trends, top destinations, new venues/hotels, innovations, and tools and reporting back as future potential locations/venues and implementations for events. Interface with Communications department on assigned event promotions and all written materials for assigned events as well as proofing and offering advice on written materials for direct reports assigned events. Responsible for assigned events online web page development and maintaining current and accurate content on the web page. Use and encourage the use of the Event App for each event assigned to. Work with the Membership department to coordinate recruitment and retention efforts during site visits/planning trips, event execution and Chair briefings and discussions. Manage all on-site and/or virtual teams and relationships with outside vendors, contractors and resources as well as handle all challenges as they arise on events. Ensure appropriate emergency and crisis management plans in place and carried out during an event. Assist in special projects and other duties, as required. Internal Relationships

: Reports to the Director of Events or Associate Director of Events External Relationships

: Has frequent contact with International Chairs of the Board, Executive Committee, Board Members, and CEO Members. Represent CEO at industry events, maintaining positive and professional relationships with outside vendors. Qualifications

: Bachelor’s degree. 8+ years’ experience planning and executing domestic and international events required in an extremely fast-faced and multi-faceted project-oriented profession. Ability to travel, domestically and internationally, for up to two weeks at a time and over weekends. Must have valid passport. Driven, intellectually curious, detail oriented with the ability to multi-task at ease. Excellent interpersonal skills, a hospitable personality, and a professional presence. Ability to work individually, remotely, as well as in teams. Must possess poise to manage projects independently and be a self-starter.
