Patient Service Representative

Arthur Center is looking for a compassionate and organized Patient Service Representative to join our healthcare team. The Patient Service Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients, playing a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for those seeking care. This position involves managing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers in a friendly and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding services, procedures, and insurance
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist patients with the intake process, including completing required forms
- Coordinate with medical staff and departments to ensure timely patient care
- Process payments and explain billing procedures to patients
- Ensure the waiting area is clean, organized, and welcoming
- Handle patient complaints and resolve issues professionally
- Stay informed about clinic services and protocols to provide accurate information
- Strong customer service skills and a compassionate demeanor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in office software applications, including Microsoft Office
- Experience in a healthcare setting or as a Patient Service Representative preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or a related field preferred
