The base salary range for this position is $ 66,597 to $86,576, depending on experience.

Purpose

The Analyst-budget and Billing role will facilitate and coordinate efforts related to gathering, analyzing, and reporting the results of the Corporate Security and Resilience department's financial goals and objectives for both Capital and Operational Expenses. This will be a lead role in all activities related to producing financial metrics and preparing reports.

Prospective applicants should have an in-depth knowledge of and experience with the SAP software application and a proven record of working independently with minimal guidance. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they can support and guide others in the organization with less experience, work collaboratively with others, and maintain a results-oriented approach to daily tasks, recommending process improvements where applicable.

Responsibilities include purchasing/procurement and budget analysis for the area, producing reports, including general ledgers, financial statements, and regulatory and management reports for the Corporate Security and Resilience department upon request.

Responsibilities

Responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting critical financial metrics. Report results across the Corporate Security and Resilience area and others as required. Identify and analyze performance gaps from established goals, working with the direct manager to recommend and implement improvements. Provide input and support business-related purchasing and budgeting activities. Ensure up-to-date documentation on existing processes and procedures. Design new processes, identify process improvements, and develop performance measures. Maintain scorecards related to financial metrics. Participate in project teams for purchasing and budget-related items and assist with continuous improvement efforts. Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions to ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Pay vendor invoices, and process goods receipts on a timely basis. Maintain and reconcile accounts payable/receivable, financial statements, and reports. Compile and review the budgets for the Corporate Security and Resilience department, taking into consideration actual performance, previous expenditures, and estimated expenses and income. Maintain accurate spending records and establish measures for budgetary control. Perform emergency/storm role and support restoration efforts as needed.

Skills and Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements:

Meet at least one of the following:

5+ years of related (financial/ purchasing/ budget) experience AS Degree plus 2+ years of related (financial/ purchasing/ budget) experience BS Degree

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience using, managing, and actioning invoices and purchase orders via the SAP financial module.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as NERC/CIP, SOX, etc.
  • Utility Industry experience.
Key Skills:
  • Understanding of financial statements.
  • Understanding of accounts payable/receivable transactions.
  • Project budgeting and financial support
  • Computer capabilities with Microsoft Office and experience with Excel (specifically as it relates to budgets and financial tracking).
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP and tools for budget control/availability, invoice investigation, purchase requisition, and processing.
  • Effective communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Assisting staff with navigating procurement workflows.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn.
