Our client, a global leader in Commercial Real Estate and Facilities Management is seeking a Data Center Technical Team Lead due to business growth in the Data Center practice. This full time role will work onsite in Shoreview, MN, pays $38 per hour and works first shift hours 7am-7pm (2on, 2off, 3on, 3off).This role contains an ample vacation plan and a strong benefit package.

The key to this role is past leadership of a team that utilizes Mechanical and Electrical skills to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs in a Data Center/Critical Environment operation.The incumbent of this role will:

  • Coordinate and manage a Data Center team's daily activities.
  • Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Implement improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
  • Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel, and technicians.
  • Oversee all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical issues. Must remain current with the latest technology trends.
  • Guide ongoing communication with tenants, clients, owners, facility management team, and vendors.
  • Respond to emergency situations and customer concerns.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues that may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
  • Delivers oversight of electrical and mechanical systems, including but not limited to: Universal Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, chillers, Electrical Distribution, HVAC systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) systems, and CMMS Work Dispatching.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years experience in either the Mechanical or Electrical trade.
  • Journeyman/Electrician or HVAC license, preferred, and state and local licensures as applicable.
  • Knowledge of emergency response/standby/call out activities and protocols
  • Knowledge of Critical Facility and Data Center equipment and components including UPS, PDU, STS, EG, CRAC, CRAH
  • Understanding of 24/7/365 Data Center environments, and the working restrictions applicable to such environments.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations
