The Biomedical Technician is responsible for installation, electrical safety inspections, periodic maintenance, performance testing and major and minor repairs of medical equipment in assigned areas of the hospital, as well as external/retail clients. The Biomedical Technician operates sophisticated test equipment and instrumentation for inspections, performance tests, and periodic maintenance/repairs of medical equipment. The testing data acquired from said testing is analyzed and may be prepared for reports. The Biomedical Technician has a thorough understanding of biomedical equipment commonly used in general care areas. The Biomedical Technician may be exposed to or responsible for modalities such as life-support and advanced equipment that will prepare them for the Senior Biomedical Technician role. In addition, must be able to perform tasks outlined in Associate Biomedical Technician. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable.
