As an essential leader of Elford’s Accounting team, the Manager, Project Accounting is responsible for leading a team of Project Accountants to maintain accurate project financials from startup to closeout. Responsibilities include managing all financial activities related to construction projects, including project accounting and forecasting, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, subcontractor payments, and compliance. The role calls for attention to detail and strong communication with internal operations teams, subcontractor partners, and owners. This position reports to the Controller and ensures appropriate controls and processes are in place to accurately prepare and present project financials and operational reports for company leaders. This position requires a detailed and thorough understanding of project financials and forecasts while providing monthly budget and forecast reviews to ensure project success. Strategically, this role will provide insight into project and market sector financial performance, review and transform interdepartmental processes, and support company-wide data governance efforts required for performance analytics. The key responsibilities of the position include: Lead and manage all Elford projects’ financial activities from start-up through close-out, including leading the daily operations of a team of Project Accountants Ensure accurate and timely project financial reporting, revenue recognition, and project billing to Owners in accordance with contract terms QAQC for ensuring accuracy and completeness of all project billings, job cost payables, and compliances Lead monthly project status review meetings to validate project financials, and proactively identify and communicate potential issues while quantifying risk Review and challenge project cost forecasts required for accurate revenue recognition and work-in-progress calculation Prepare project financial and operational reports for business leaders to drive insights and business decisions, areas include project health, cash flow, cost trends and variances, and forecast risks Create a positive work environment for the Project Accountants while supporting the professional development of direct reports Foster continuous improvement by recommending new or revised processes and procedures to drive departmental efficiencies Collaborate with the Controller on short and long-term forecasting of the business Collaborate with VP of Operations and Project Management Collaborate with IT on system improvements while providing recommendations for solutions Education/Experience: Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of 3-5 years in a construction accounting or financial reporting role Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent industry experience Have past supervisory experience in managing a team, developing employees, and leading processes initiatives to produce results Performance Behavior Requirements (Competencies): Demonstrate ownership of responsibilities and ability to drive resolution of issues Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees, subcontractors, owners and company contacts Experience with ERP platforms and ability to navigate software Current platforms utilized by Elford: CMIC, Textura, Autodesk Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, with the ability to manipulate data to create impactful reporting for business leaders Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently with a high volume of output Detail-oriented and strong organizational habits Self-driven to complete continuous improvement initiatives and support ongoing learning Elford, Inc. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and an Equal Opportunity Employer of individuals with disabilities and veteran status. #J-18808-Ljbffr
