The Manufacturing Engineer II is expected to promote a positive attitude, demonstrate initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality. What Will You Do? Manufacturing Engineer I + Develop, optimize, and implement manufacturing methods and processes through various functions (e.g., line balancing, general assembly flows, process flows). + Assist with the coordination of new product introduction initiatives throughout Operations both at the contract manufacturers and STI. + Assist in the definition and updating of manufacturing processes and documentation. + Support resolution of Bill of Materials and routing errors in Company ERP systems. + Execute routine manufacturing engineering assignments that involve basic analysis. + Assist in manufacturing engineering projects. + Review assembly process of new and existing product to maximize production efficiency and reduce cost . + Generate ECOs and complete ECO implementations according to established processes, providing implementation requirements and due dates. + Update and review ECO implementations and review new product introductions to ensure efficient integration into production. + Determine and establish labor and assembly time standards. + Participate in value engineering initiatives to drive product, process, cost, quality, and delivery improvements. + Support and address daily production issues related to BoM and sales order details though use of Company ERP systems; review issues and evaluate possible short- and long-term solutions. + Develop tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes. + Participate in companywide process improvement initiatives. + Participate in both internal and external audits. + Promote positive company user relations by projecting a courteous, helpful attitude and assisting employees when appropriate. + Display original thinking and creativity; Meet challenges with resourcefulness; Generate suggestions for improving work; Develop innovative approaches and ideas. + Display willingness to make decisions; Exhibit sound and accurate judgment; Support and explain reasoning for decisions; Include appropriate people in decision-making process (specifically Department Managers); Make timely decisions. + Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills Education: + Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University with emphasis in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: + A minimum of 2 years manufacturing engineering experience in a high-volume production environment, preferred. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: + Previous 2D and 3D CAD Design experience. + Professional working proficiency in Spanish and English required. + Ability to coordinate engineering projects and demonstrate engineering technical expertise to a team. + Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company including Engineering, Marketing, and Sales. + Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently. + Project management skills including planning, organizing, meeting facilitation and coordinating tasks. + Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/Access). + This position will require 25% travel (approximately 1 week a month). Applicant must have or be able to obtain and maintain permission to travel to the USA and Mexico.
