Position Overview:

As a Supplier Quality Engineer at IGT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our suppliers provide top-quality components and materials that meet our stringent specifications. Your expertise will be vital in addressing and resolving semi-complex issues related to nonconforming materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct audits and inspections of supplier materials to promote the identification of effective quality assurance systems that guarantee defect-free components.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop solutions for material defects, ensuring adherence to product design specifications.
  • Perform routine material inspections that involve general analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Engage in problem-solving for assigned engineering challenges using established engineering methodologies.
  • Influence team members and processes through informed decision-making.

Accountabilities:
  • Drive suppliers to establish quality assurance systems that ensure the delivery of defect-free materials.
  • Work alongside engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to define inspection criteria for workmanship and cosmetic defects.
  • Develop and prioritize an auditing schedule to regularly assess suppliers for compliance with manufacturing practices and quality standards.
  • Evaluate suppliers' internal processes to assess performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Establish quality metrics to enhance supplier performance and compliance.
  • Assist in qualifying suppliers according to IGT's standards.
  • Monitor parts throughout the manufacturing cycle and address supplier-related issues as they arise.
  • Support the new product development process and coordinate design reviews between manufacturing and suppliers.
  • Stay informed about relevant technologies, materials, and industry trends.

Strategic Role:
  • Contribute to the quality engineering and manufacturing departments' strategies through project completion.
  • Adhere to technical and engineering standards in all tasks.

Communication:
  • Maintain regular internal communications with individuals of moderate influence within quality, supply chain management, manufacturing, and engineering.
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure clear communication and understanding of quality expectations.

Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of IGT's manufacturing processes and material inspection workflows.
  • Understanding of the gaming industry and its standards.
  • Experience with quality improvement tools and Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and electrical/mechanical part functions.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in supplier quality or supply chain management.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
