The function of the Marketing team encompasses four main areas: 1) strategic planning, 2) consumer and market insights, 3) internal and external communications [media & public relations], and 4) category management. The Marketing Manager – Pastry Category will manage an imported pastry business, driving growth across all product formats (Freezer-To-Oven and Fully-Baked) and channels (Foodservice; In-Store Bakery; Frozen Retail). Significant time is spent working with Unibake International headquarters (UBI) in Denmark and cross-functional teams (both domestically within Unibake USA and internationally with Unibake sister companies throughout Europe) to coordinate resources, execute global initiatives in the US, and deliver against commercial strategy plans. Essential Functions: Develop strategies and innovation pipeline to grow the U.S. pastry business, working with closely with US Marketing Director, UBI Innovation Director, UBI Category Management Team, producing countries (UK, Belgium, Denmark) and US team Lead cross-functional teams in new product development (both strategic and bespoke) and commercialization, working with Unibake production sites in Europe and any third-party production sites Define, propose, and execute annual category plan based on goals established in the long-range strategic plan Drive digital marketing activities to support the Pastry category with marketing agencies, and maintain website Coordinate with UBI on global category management initiatives and US execution of those initiatives, while making sure that the US-perspective is understood and taken into consideration during the planning phases of global initiatives at UBI Participate in monthly S&OP process, providing an overview on portfolio performance, product range changes, and Innovation dashboard Partner with US Sales team to create tailored category reviews for key customers (both Foodservice and Retail) Additional Responsibilities: Assist in preparations and participation in annual trade shows (NACS & IDDBA) Keeps abreast of industry changes and developments (competitors, products, tactics, etc.) Performs other related duties as requested or assigned Organizational Core Competencies: Analytical Abilities: Data mining and reporting is a critical role for this position. Qualifications: BA/BS required in Marketing, Business, or related field. Minimum of 1-3 years of brand management experience; consumer packaged goods experience is highly preferred. Strong business and financial acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Leadership strengths must include inspiring trust, transparency and teamwork with cross functional resources and management High proficiency in syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI) Strong sense of urgency and a self-starter Some travel required Compensation: Competitive salary paid bi-weekly. Performance evaluations are done annually. Bonus potential: There is an opportunity to earn up to 10% of annual salary based upon the Company attaining the sales and profitability goals established by the management for each calendar year and achievement of personal objectives. All bonus payments are discretionary and reviewed by the President each year. Benefits: Lantmännen Unibake offers a comprehensive health and benefits plan that includes health, dental, vision, LTD, STD and supplemental life insurance. We also offer a 401k program with a company match of 100% on first 3% of your contribution and then 50% on the next 2%. Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual of PTO time begins immediately, however, you cannot take any of it until after the first 90 days of employment (Probationary Period). You will accrue 1.25 days each month for a maximum of 15 days of PTO annually, which is to be used for vacations, personal days off and sick days. At your 5- and 10-year anniversary, the accrual rate will increase to reflect an additional 5 days of PTO each. Holidays: There are normally 8 paid holidays per year.
