**Responsibilities**:
**Leadership and Direction**

- Interact and communicate with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others from project start to completion.
- Attend and participate in project meetings as needed.

**Do the Work**
- Design fire protection and safety systems.
- Perform hydraulic modeling, including hydrant flow testing.
- Analyze and interpret fire protection code and life safety data to support successful design.
- Assist in commissioning of fire protection and life safety systems.
- Prepare project documents to track successful implementation from start to finish.
- Troubleshoot problems in implementation as they arise, offer solutions based on knowledge of fire protection and safety systems.
- Evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques to support project team.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline with fire protection engineering experience.
- Zero to five (0-5) years of work experience in fire protection engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
- Revit or AutoCAD experience preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

- Partly indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
- Mobility around an office environment.
- Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Partly outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
- Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
- Occasional pushing or pulling up to 40 pounds.
- Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
