Job Summary:
WINSLOW CORRECTIONAL OFFICER III ANNOUNCEMENT 24-872CP OPEN TO CURRENT ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, REHABILITATION & REENTRY EMPLOYEES AND EXTERNAL CANDIDATES.

CANDIDATES WHO ARE LISTED ON A CURRENT CORRECTIONAL OFFICER III REGISTER MUST RE-APPLY TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. THE REGISTER CREATED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL RUN CONCURRENT WITH THE REGISTER 23-683CP UNTIL A NEW STATEWIDE REGISTER IS CREATED.

**IMPORTANT DEADLINES**:

- Written Exam to be taken online between**:Monday, April 29, 2024 - Friday, May 3, 2024**.
- Oral Board start date**:Monday, May 20, 2024**.
- _Note: Voluntary demotion applicants must have an _**_approved_**_ voluntary demotion memo on file with CPR to be considered for a job offer._

**SECTION 1 SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S)-THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED-**

**CURRENT Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry Employees**:

- Two years of experience as a Correctional Officer II in the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry
- Or must have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Public Administration, Business Administration, Behavioral Health or Sociology.
- _NOTE: Those applicants with a qualifying degree will be exempt from the written exam. _**_Transcripts need to be supplied to CPR by Monday, May 20, 2024._**

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- **PERFORMANCE EVALUATION** - Must receive a rating of meets expectations or better.
- **SUSPENSION** - Suspension during one year prior to announcement, ineligible for one promotional cycle.
- **VOLUNTARY DEMOTIONS** - Employees accepting a voluntary demotion shall be required to remain in the classification/position requested for a period of at least two years before being considered for appointment to any other position. Voluntary demotion applicants must have an approved voluntary demotion memo on file with CPR to be considered for a job offer. No job offers will be made without an approved voluntary demotion.

**Qualifications for NON-Arizona Department of Corrections Applicants**:

- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Public Administration, Business Administration, Behavioral Health, or Sociology.
- _Note: Those applicants with a qualifying degree will be exempt from the written exam. _**_Transcripts need to be supplied to CPR by Monday, May 20, 2024._**

**SECTION 2 EVALUATION AND TESTING PROCESS-**
- Each promotion or different position with the same employer must be listed separately on the resume and must include adequate work history identifying experience, duties, qualifications, selective requirements, and/or preferences must be reflected on the resume in order to receive applicable credit.
- Applicants who meet the KSAs and selective preferences will be invited to the next step of the process. Applicants who achieve or exceed a passing score on the oral board interview will have their names placed on the Central Promotional Register after other promotional points are included, if any.
- Rank on the register will be calculated by adding passing scores from the written exam, oral board interview, and other promotional points.

**SECTION 3 OTHER PROMOTIONAL POINTS-**
- **PASS PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST (VOLUNTARY/ADCRR staff)**:Maintain 50%=40pts. You must supply a copy of your voluntary physical fitness certificate.
- **DEGREES**:AA=20pts; BA=30pts; MA=40pts. You must supply a copy of your transcript(s) for college degrees.

**SECTION 4 REGISTER/JOB OFFERS-**
- The register developed from this recruitment will expire when a new external statewide register is developed. D.O. 504 specifies that a register shall be active for the period of time specified in the announcement or until it no longer satisfies recruitment needs, whichever occurs first. Registers may be extended when necessary.
