**OVERVIEW**:

True AP background in a manufacturing environment. AP must be 100% of their daily duties not a task. Will be working with supplier payments and terms. Looking at inventory receipts and reconciliation. Will draft recommendations. Very high-volume transactions ? 1,000. Must be Excel PROFICENT. Will have to do research on follow-ups and match up discrepancies. This is an interfacing role with ** Supply Chain and Purchasing. They will interact with those departments daily so will need good communication skills. Someone that is hands on finding any issues on payables. They are moving from an old DOS system to SAP so if they have SAP huge Plus This is a great department with 4 people in it. The reason is open is because the person is retiring.

**Position Summary**:
With minimum supervision, responsible for the daily/weekly/monthly processing of accounts payable as well as other accounting related clerical functions such as document retention, customer invoicing and distribution of reports.

**Essential Functions**:
**Responsibilities may include some or all, of the following**:
1. Manage accounts payable activities including processing of supplier invoices and debit memos.

2. Ensuring payment policy and accounts payable guidelines are followed.

3. Coordinate with appropriate department personnel to secure proper payment approvals.

4. Reconciling supplier statements, researching and correcting discrepancies.

6. Track purchase order balances to ensure payments are not processed without adequate funds approved and available.

7. Provide supporting documentation for audits and testing.

8. Interface with team members, functional departments, management, suppliers and customers.

9. Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by management.

**Education and Experience**:
High school degree and 2 years of relevant experience required.

Knowledge of basic accounting principles as well as labor laws and taxes where applicable.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external customers.

Ability to work with others and be a participative team player.

Ability to accurately maintain records.
