Billing Coordinator

**_The Opportunity_**

The Billing Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of task requiring data analysis, sound judgement, and evaluation of work. The Billing Coordinator will have an in-depth knowledge of medical billing, along with database software, excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Billing Coordinator will have knowledge of billing statements/reports, cash logs, and patient ledgers along with other financial statements/reports; involving calculating and the breakdown of various programs or sites data.

**_ Responsibilities_**
- Maintain and monitor billing submissions, cash logs, cash collections.
- Follow-up on financial statements/reports for any payment discrepancies/errors.
- Investigate and appeal denied claims.
- Collaborate with manager, department, and program staff, including various insurance payers to resolve billing and or payment discrepancies/errors
- Assist front desk staff to ensure patient information is accurate and complete including the confirmation of patient benefits and insurance.
- Follow all regulations and guidelines set by Medicare, Medicaid, and HMO/MCO/PPO including HIPAA
- Follow set billing processes and procedures.
- Input payment history or other financial data into billing software.
Respond to questions from patients, staff, providers, or insurance companies

Qualifications_**
- College degree preferred

2 years of medical billing experience required- Strong Bookkeeping, and Accounting knowledge preferred
- Proficient computer skills required

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Location: Garden City
